This map shows the proposed 200 mile maglev network for the Puget Sound region.  At $100 million/mile, this represents an investment of $20 billion dollars. Yet this system is capable of paying for itself through fare collection, and will therefore result in significant taxpayer saving over the course of the next 30 years and beyond by reducing expenditures on highway construction by more than the cost of this system.  For example, the projected cost of the I-405 and 520 bridge expansions are about $15 billion, and these projects will not be necessary, since this system can reduce highway traffic significantly from its current levels.
